Day 1

Arrival Nairobi, Transfer Samburu Game Reserve

Depart for our safari driving through the central part of Kenya’s rich with agricultural activities to Samburu Game reserve located in the semi-arid land in the north Frontier District. The land is characterized by rugged terrains dominated by dramatic hills with acacia and Doum palm trees along the Ewaso Nyiro river, the lifeline of this beautiful arid lands and home to fantastic bird life and rare species of animals including Somali Ostrich, Besia Oryx, Gerenuk, gravy zebra, Reticulated Giraffe and Greater Kudu. The reserve is a good place to watch elephants and the big Cats. Arrive in time for lunch followed by afternoon game drive.

Day 2

Lake Nakuru / Lake Naivasha

Have early breakfast and enjoy an enroute game view as you depart to Lake Nakuru National Park which was created to protect the huge flocks of over a million lesser and greater flamingo that breed and nest at the edge of Lake Nakuru, giving it the characteristic pink rim( NB. Flamingoes are few at the Lake due to high water rising at the park). A stop-over at Thomson’s falls for scenic and rest area. Lunch will be served at Nakuru town. Proceed with the drive crossing the equator then down the east wall of the Great Rift Valley to Nakuru and enjoy the game drive where you have a chance to see the endangered white rhino. Other wildlife found here includes lions, leopards, zebra, gazelles, eland, giraffe and the hyrax. After the game drive, proceed to Lake Naivasha arriving in the evening for dinner and overnight stay at Naivasha Sopa Lodge.

Day 3-4

Maasai Mara Game Reserve

After breakfast we depart heading South West to Masai Mara National reserve arriving in time for lunch . Afternoon game drive across the beautiful dotted plains of Mara in search for large prides of lions and other cat’s family species like cerval cat, cheetah, and leopard including herbivores like Topi, Hartebeest, Oribi as well as many other mammals, reptiles and amphibian species. Have dinner and overnight stay at Mara Sopa Lodge.

Day 5

Transfer Nairobi, Departure

Early morning game drive returning to the Lodge in the mid morning for breakfast. After breakfast, depart from Masai Mara and start your journey back to Nairobi, lunch en route, arriving in the mid afternoon for ttransfer to Jomo Kenyatta Airport.

Samburu Sopa Lodge

Located inside the Samburu National Reserve in Northern Kenya, Samburu Sopa lodge is built atop high ground allowing panaromic views of the vastness of Samburu shrub land and the hills beyond. The lodge is built to reflect the architectural heritage of the local communities whose sons and daughters make up the majority of the work force at the lodge. Fifteen cottages, each with two bedrooms are built in an arch formation on either side of the public areas to surround the waterhole but leaving a wide gap to allow the animals free movement to the water.

All the public areas are spacious and offer uninterrupted views of the surrounding landscape. The restaurant and reception are decorated with local artifacts and rich earth colours typical of the Samburu area. Leisure facilities include a swimming pool. Additional activities include a visit to a Samburu village, guided nature walks and bird watching.

Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge

Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge Naivasha is located on the shores of Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley and is only an hour’s drive (90 km) from Nairobi. The lodge is set in one hundred and fifty acres of grassland studded with Acacia bushes and trees along Moi South Lake and about 11.5 km from in Naivasha. Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge has 82 rooms in 21 Cottages (Including 2 suites)· Each Cottage has 4 rooms, 2 on the ground and 2 at the top. There are 6 inter-connecting rooms on the ground floor & 2 wheelchair-accessible rooms.

Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge also offers loads of family-friendly recreational activities to choose from including indoor camping, boat ride, guided nature walk, throwing frisbees, and board games. Other activities include biking at Hell’s Gate, a boat trip on Lake Naivasha & Crescent Island, hiking Mt Longonot, visiting the Elsamere Conservation Center, swimming at the Olkaria Geothermal Spa, visiting the Crater Lake Game Sanctuary, going wine tasting at Morendat Farm, hike Ol Doinyo Eburru, horseback safaris at the Sanctuary Farm, and explore Lake Oloiden

Mara Sopa Lodge

Masai Mara Sopa Lodge is located on the furthermost eastern corner of the Masai Mara National Reserve on a hillside of the Oloolamuita Valley. The lodge blends in perfectly with its surroundings and the interior style reflects traditional Maasai culture. In Maasai the word ‘sopa’ means ‘welcome’ and at Mara Sopa all guests are ensured the very warmest of welcomes.

Located high on the slopes of the Oloolaimutia Hills, Masai Mara Sopa Lodge was one of the first safari lodges to be built in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, a reason why its gardens and trees are so lush and mature. All the buildings follow the design of traditional African round houses with conical roofs, and these stretch along the line of the hills with the impressively large public area buildings and the swimming pool at their centre.

The lodge offers accommodation in guest cottages divided into two wings to either side of the main public areas. Each of these house two spacious guest rooms with queen- or king-size beds, mosquito nets, electronic safes, en-suite bathrooms, and sheltered verandas that all have views over the gardens and the game reserve beyond. Six of the cottages each contain two suites with larger bedrooms and bathrooms, and both indoor and outdoor seating areas.
